The CAPMT Concerto Competition was held at Concert Hall, Santa Clara University, on Sunday, June 4, 2006. Four pianists, representing three studios, participated. The winner of the competition was Alan Chen, a student of Hans Boepple. Alan will be performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto in E-flat Major with orchestra. The date and the location of the performance will be announced in the next issue of the Communiqué. The alternate was Ashley Hsu, a student of Jed Galant, who played Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major. Erna Gulabyan and Dorian Ho were the judges for the competition. Congratulations to Alan Chen and his teacher, Hans Boepple. Carmina Glicklich, Concerto Competition Chair
