PIANO AND ENSEMBLE FESTIVALS

The Piano and Ensemble Auditions Recitals, which feature the performers who earned the top rating ("5") during the chapter and district auditions, will be returning to the the State Conference on a yearly rotation basis, beginning with the 2007 State Conference at the San Mateo Marriott.

The Festival Recitals will take place at the State Conference for that half of the state in which the Conference occurs. (The State Conference location alternates between northern and southern California.)

The other half of the state will hold a Festival which will follow the current format of a day of celebration recitals, in addition to a master class with a prestigious teacher, held on the campus of a university or conservatory.

The members in central California (Districts V and VI) may choose to participate in either the State Conference Festival Recitals or the Festival Recitals in the other half of the state. However, District V and VI students may not participate two consecutive years in the State Conference Festival Recitals.
