We have some reports that users are having problems filling out the Adobe
Acrobat PDF forms online.
If you are on a slow (dial-up type) connection, please wait a while for
the forms to load.
You may want to directly download the form to your computer and open it
with this method:
- right click on the link to the application, and then
- click (on the popup menu that comes up) on “Save Target As…” and
then
- save the form somewhere on your local computer.
- After it has downloaded, it will present you with a “Download
Complete” box, which should then have an “Open” button
- click the "Open" button.
If you are not using the
latest Adobe Acrobat Reader version
available for your system, please consider
upgrading by downloading the free upgrade from this link:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

(Note: is a
large download - best done on a fast Internet connection, or on a slow
connection when you've got a lot of time)
Mac users please note:
The Mac OS X 'Preview' program in OS X older versions (10.0 Cheetah, 10.1
Puma, 10.2 Jaguar, 10.3 Panther) operating systems (before 10.4 Tiger and
10.5 Leopard) cannot display PDF forms. It has been identified that some
versions of 10.4 Tiger may display PDF some PDF forms but not others. 'Preview' is the default program for
displaying PDFs, not Adobe Acrobat Reader, even if you have the Acrobat
Reader program loaded.
Install Acrobat Reader (if not already loaded) using this
link and
then follow these instructions to make sure Acrobat is used to open your
files. These instructions were tested with Mac OS X 10.3.2. Other
versions of OS X may differ slightly, but the general idea should still
apply.
In brief: 'Get Info' for any PDF file, change the 'Open With' settings
from Preview to Adobe Acrobat, and then 'Change All...' to make all PDF
files open with Acrobat.
Once you've done that, Safari will honor that setting and any PDF files
downloaded will be opened with Reader instead of Preview.
Detailed instructions:
- Switch to the the Finder, (click the smiley icon in the Dock).
- Locate any file whose name ends with .pdf.
- Select the file (click ONCE on it to highlight it).
- In the File menu, select 'Get Info' (you can also use the keyboard
shortcut Command-I)
- Reveal the 'Get Info' section of the window. (The Info window is
divided into several sections which can be revealed or hidden using the
triangle widget on the left hand side of the window. Use the triangle to
make sure the 'Open with:' section is shown.)
- Change the 'Open with:' pop-up menu from Preview to Acrobat Reader
- Click the 'Change All...' button, and click the 'Continue' button
when you are prompted to confirm the change.
