Nahre SolNahre Sol performs, composes and teaches an eclectic mixture of music and runs a notable series of videos on Youtube about music theory, harmony, practicing, and composition. She holds degrees from The Juilliard School and The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and has studied in Paris under the tutelage of Gabriel Tacchino and Narcis Bonet, pupils of Francis Poulenc and Nadia Boulanger. Nahre's music has been premiered by artists and ensembles such as Ema Nikolovska, Kunal Lahiry, The Happenstancers, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Michael Hey, Julian Martin, and has been featured in the soundtrack of Boss Baby II and video game DEEMO II. |
Catherine KarolyCatherine Karoly (flute) joined the LA Philharmonic as Second Flutist in 1996 and assumed the position of Associate Principal Flutist in 2011. In 2021, she was hired as Adjunct Flute Instructor and head of flute studies at USC Thornton School of Music. Catherine frequently performs chamber music in Los Angeles. She has posted several performance and tutorial videos on her youtube channel. |
Dr. Martha (Marty) Baker-JordanLifetime Achievement Award Recipient
Dr. Martha Baker-Jordan was a Professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy atCalifornia State University, Fullerton, for 34 years where she received numerous awards for teaching excellence and where she designed and implemented both Bachelor andMaster’s Degrees in Piano Pedagogy. In addition to many published articles and piano instruction books, she authored "Practical Piano Pedagogy," a 476-page best-selling piano pedagogy text. Marty was a frequent presenter at state, national and international levels and served in many leadership capacities for the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy as well as editing the "Proceedings" several times. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in 2011. |
Ron AndersonCommissioned Composer Ron Anderson holds a doctoral degree in Piano Performance, as well as degrees in Opera and Music Composition, and has enjoyed successes in all three endeavors. Dr. Anderson serves on the piano faculty at Chapman University and is active as an adjudicator for competitions and festivals. His compositions for orchestra, choir, chamber ensembles, piano solo, and voice have been received enthusiastically, having won competitions and critical acclaim. Recently, his choral anthem “Wilt Thou Forgive?” was awarded First Prize in the Cerddorion Composers Competition, tied with Bernardino Zanetti of Italy. He is a current winner of the SMP Press composition contest in three categories (Choral, Chamber, and Solo). His compositions and arrangements are published on SMP Press (Sheet Music Plus).

For parking, guests will need to purchase a $3 daily parking permit for each day of the conference. Parking permits must be purchased online on the day you plan to arrive on campus.
