CAPMT Contemporary Competition for highly motivated students and highlights the contemporary repertoire. It is open to piano, string, wind, brass and voice students from age 9 up to age 26. The Contemporary Competition offers opportunity to compete repertoire written by a composer with a death date on or after January 1, 1945. Winners from each district will compete in the State Finals on Saturday, March 20, 2027, at San Jose State University School of Music.
